HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE PULPIT

God ordained the marriage between Adam and Eve, and he set the example on how two individuals should come together. Satan’s mission is to twist or pervert what God has already set in place. His job is to interweave our minds into thinking that whatever we set our minds to do is right, especially given that we have a freedom of choice.  We must keep in mind that Satan’s a deceiver—the father of lies. He takes the mind, and his ultimate goal is to go against God’s order by persuading a person to believe a lie.

For example, many homosexual’s defense is “I was born this way” or the victim mentality of “I was raped, and the first person that took my virginity was the same sex, therefore I can’t help it.” That’s a lie, a trick from the deceiver. He tries to take our identity in Christ Jesus. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came so that we can have life more abundantly, a life that’s full in him.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10; NIV).

There comes a time in an individual’s life, when they have to make a decision and choose to say no more. I am taking back everything Satan has tried to take away from me, even my identity. When we give our life to Christ, we become a new creature; old things are passed away and all things become new in him.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17; KJV).

The Lord Jesus Christ loves the sinner, but he hates their sin. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son and whosoever believes in him, shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life. He’s not going to go against his Word; he’s a righteous God. Therefore, if a person doesn’t repent from their own self centered-desires, they will not inherit the kingdom of God.  For that reason, a person’s actions shouldn’t be justified based on desire. Just because a person may have a desire for the same sex, doesn’t mean that it’s a right desire.

The desire for the same sex is treated the same as having a desire for drugs, alcohol, a married person’s spouse, lust, or greed. We must fight against the desire.
“Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: ‘See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.’ These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for own advantage.” (Jude 14-16; NIV).

Even if a person is deceived to think that they were born this way, God doesn’t make mistakes. Everything he does is with detail and purpose. God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.’ (Genesis 1:27-28 NIV).

God put male and female together to establish family by multiplication—being fruitful by having children to increase in number the right way. Two men or two women having sexual relationships together are unlawful in God’s eyes. They cannot reproduce God’s ordained way, which is male and female having intercourse together. A male produces sperm and a woman produces the egg; together it creates a baby (fruitful).  It’s just that simple.

God’s HEARTBEAT is gracious; it’s merciful; it’s slow to anger; and it’s of GREAT kindness. Jonah knew this of God. However, he still became angry with God simply because he didn't get his WAY with the people of Nineveh. Still, God showed compassion for Jonah in spite of Jonah’s ways.

This goes to show us that regardless how we may feel about a certain city, a certain culture, or a certain individual, God has the last word. He has a HEART with great compassion and love for His people, especially when they TURN from their wicked ways.

Jonah didn’t have the HEARTBEAT of God within him. He knew of God, but he was lacking intimacy, he didn’t have the HEARTBEAT of God for the people.

How many churches know of God, know of His word, know of his people, but don’t KNOW Him because of the lack of intimacy?

How do we become intimate? By spending TIME with Him, by reading His Word, by walking with Him, by talking with Him, by crying out to Him, by acknowledging Him in ALL our ways, and by continuously seeking His face. In other words, by letting down our hair. (Worship). Yes, it’s a process, and the more we draw nigh to Him the more he draws nigh to us. He continuously goes deeper and deeper within us, and His seed starts to grow. Many churches are lacking this HEARTBEAT.

Gen 4:1 and 25 tells us that Adam KNEW his wife, Eve, and she conceived.

When churches become intimate with the Holy Spirit, they become spiritually pregnant with his seed, His Spirit. This will enable the church to guard, to protect, and to nourish what He has placed within. Ultimately, it causes His love to spring forth like rivers of living water. It causes the church to have a deep love for the things of God. In other words, His HEARTBEAT for His people. By the church staying intimate with Him, His love flows within us. It gives us the power to forgive, the power to dismiss ALL false accusations, the power to be merciful, the power to be gracious, the power to be slow to anger, and the power to give great, loving kindness to the people.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The primary purpose of writing this book is definitely not to persecute the churches. It will bring true repentance, true righteousness, true holiness and most of all the fear of the Lord back into the churches.  For so long, many churches have started off by putting the kingdom of God first and in seeking His righteousness, but heartbreaking to say, some have ended up in a spirit of compromise. In other words, “There’s Too Much Hell in the Church.”

 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33; kjv).
